Year 9 – Year 13
April 17th, April 18th, May 2nd, May 9th
9:30am – 4pm Each Day
Join us to work out the high level design of a 1U satellite. This is the preliminary stage of our satellite building programme. At the end of the programme, you shall complete the first iteration of the satellite skeleton — working out the backbones of how this satellite will work, produce the first prototype model, and ready to fit in the detailed part design and making in the next stage.
What you will learn in general:
– Engineering design thinking
– Project and time management
– Putting your high school textbook equations into practice in a professional engineering environment
– What is it like to be an engineer
– How to coordinate communication in a complex system level engineering project across multiple teams
– How to utilise a wide range of skillsets offered by different team members
Choose any of the three teams:
– Orbital and Space Mission Design Team
– Spacecraft Mechanical Structure Team
– Satellite electronic system Team
The three teams will work in parallel and support each other in their area of specialties. Each team member will present their design part at the end of the programme, showing the great achievements you have made.
