Introduction to Satellite Commanding Workshop
Download files from a real satellite in space!
Learn how satellites are operated from Earth, including how commands are sent and data is received. You observe how staff communicate with the University of Auckland’s TPA-1 satellite and learn how to analyse real telemetry data. You also get an inside look at the next satellite currently in construction, while working through interactive mission challenges that test your problem-solving skills.

Year 9 – year 13 students interested in space, engineering, or technology!
Location: Satellite Mission Operations Control Centre, Engineering Building, University of Auckland (City Campus).
Duration: ~2hr
Date: July 14th, around mid-day (To be confirmed around June 23rd for more precise time calculation of when the satellite will fly over New Zealand)
