Description
Time to make your satellite work!
The high-level design and first build of your 1U CubeSat is completed in the previous stages. Now, this phase focuses on testing and calibrating your satellite to ensure every component performs as expected.
In this stage, you test systems, evaluate performance, and refine or upgrade components where needed. Each student contributes by working on specific parts/system of the satellite or supporting testing setups and simulations.
Put your knowledge into practice and think like an engineer.
The program tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Flight test
- Vibration test to find resonance frequency
- Thermal vacuum test to ensure the space survival
- Shock test to ensure rocket launch survival
- Testing satellite subsystems (power, communication, sensors etc)
- Calibrating instruments for accuracy
- Running simulations and test scenarios
- Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting issues
- Improving or upgrading system components
